NYC Street Style

I find myself getting the most inspiration from the most interesting places..and what could be more inspiring and interesting than the streets of NYC? Especially during fashion week, socialites, celebrities and average people alike hit the streets and flaunt what they are going to be wearing this fall. One key item I'd like to highlight is the wedge sneaker. When I first saw these I thought I was going to die/throw up/cry because I thought they were so awful..but seeing them worn on the streets of New York like this, kinda changed my mind. How do you guys feel about Isabel Marant wedgies?

  1. I felt the same way when I first saw these shoes, but now that I see how people have styled them I think it works for some people. I don't think I could personally pull them off, but I think they are kinda cool!

  2. I agree with you when you say the streets of the big apple give inspiration.... because it does! I get inspired everyday I go to class and when I'm just hanging in the city.

  3. i agree with you when you said when you first saw them you want to die/cry/throw up.. but now that i see them everywhere and that people are pairing them with black leggings or tight pants and a motorcycle leather jacket I'm digging it !

  4. I'm not going to lie when i saw that these shoes were becoming a trend I might've gotten a little too excited! I am obsessed with these!! They are such a casual but funky look that can go with about anything. Along with Marant, Steve Madden and many other designers are making them! I can't wait to buy a pair this week and rock them out.

  5. I didn't know how to first feel about them either but I can see why they're popular. The shoe is perfect for wanting to look dress down yet having the height of dressing up. I have to say, I don't believe that they are for everyone though. The bulkiness and height of the shoe's collar can make some legs appear shorter.

  6. I actually had the same reaction to the Isabel Marant wedgies...but actually seeing them on and added to a casual outfit or to a dressy outfit, i think they work. The shoe's suede and elongated aspect doesn't clash with an outfit as much as it pairs well and the fact that its a sneaker with a wedge doesn't completely turn the outfit as sport and casual. I like the variety of ways the show can be paired and they seem like comfy substitutions to regular heels, so that makes me like them even more.
